A bicycle and motor can make a dramatic difference in the way you use your bicycle. Nearly everyone who has ever ridden a bike has likely had the thought that it would certainly be nice if they could just get back home without having to depend upon doing the hard work themselves. Although the biking itself can be quite enjoyable and even energizing, sometimes, you are just all out of energy, and don't want to move another muscle. They might have great hopes and ideas for fancy doodads or thingamajigs, but they may not ever have thought up something as simple as a bicycle and motor. That's really all you need in order to be able to consider for each individual leg of the trip how you want to get from point A to point B. Simply adding a motor can make your bike so much more practical and usable in your daily life. Say, for instance, you either ride your bike for your commute, or you always thought it might be nice to ride your bike for your commute...if only something or other was different. If this is the case then a bicycle and motor may be just what you need. It helps support or replace the work of the rider, so that you can travel more distance at a faster pace. In some cases, using the motor can give you the additional speed that you would only see at a sprint, if the bicycle was being powered by you. So, now you can get to work on your bike, without having to do any of the work, if you want.
Different version of motorized bicycles work differently. Some of them are designed to be used in both manners, while some are primarily focused on a single use. The ones that are designed to be used in both manners are probably what you want if you still want to be able to use the bike as a bike. These types are a bicycle and motor, where neither option is prioritized over the other, and you can choose throughout your ride if you want to power the bicycle by foot or by motor. Other bicycles offer different options, including some where the pedals are basically intended for only very occasional use, and the bicycle is primarily intended to be operated by running the motor. Which kind you have to choose from also depends on the type of motor you're looking for. If you're looking for an add-on after-market product, you're going to have different choices than if you have a bicycle and motor that were designed to be part of the same vehicle from the beginning.
The costs of maintaining a bicycle and motor, even if you want to use the motor primarily, rather than pedaling the bike, are nearly nothing when compared to the costs of maintaining a car. If you're looking for a way to trim some dollars from your budget, this might be an appropriate way for you to do so.
