Clutch Control, Part 3: Attach the Throttle Handle and Cable

(Continued)

The image below illustrates how to connect the throttle cable to the carburetor.

To install the throttle and kill switch handle remove, the right hand handle bar grip. Remove the two screws from the throttle handle securing ring. Slide the throttle handle all the way onto the handle bar. Place a small drop of grease on the locking pin on the top throttle securing ring. Place it over the throttle connecting ring and then remove it. This should put a black dot where you need to drill a hole in the handle bar. Drill a hole in this spot slightly bigger than the locking plug on the top piece of the throttle connector ring. Next, slide the end of the throttle cable through the slot on the white Teflon peace and secure the top part of the retainer ring to the bottom using the two screws. At this point you should be able to twist the throttle and the carburetor should function as it is suppose to.

Installation of the Ignition Module

The image below shows the best way to mount the ignition module. Once you have it positioned use the retainer band and two nuts to secure it in place. Next attach the plug wire to the end of the spark plug.

Hookup the green/blue wire from the ignition module with the blue wire from the engine and the black/red wire from the kill switch (mounted up on the handle bar by the throttle). The other black wire from the throttle kill switch will need to connect to the frame of the bicycle for a ground. A good mounting point is one of the front motor mounting nuts.

The white wire coming from the engine, (if applicable) is the electrical output of the motor’s generator and should only be used for small electrical options. Remember not to exceed 3.75 watts because it will kill the motor.
